Grandparents + Special Friends Day
This Friday, October 18th is Grandparents and Special Friends Day at Roseway Heights. It starts at 1:00 in the MPR with a message from our principal, Ms. Lewins. Then at 1:30 your visitors can come up to our classroom until 2:00. I hope we have a large turnout!

Our Websites
If you want to see our websites, you either need to check the BlogSpot page manually, or “friend” me on Facebook and our page will show up in your news feed. Both web addresses are listed above.

Book Fair This Week!
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair is this week! On Thursday, October 17 in the evening there will be an ice cream social from 6-7:30.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Erik. Robin, Charlie and Maya Peterson made a very generous donation to our classroom library. We now have the Oregon Battle of the Books books as well as many from Oregon Reader’s Choice Awards.  I’m so excited to share with the kids!

Returning Books
I am all for the students borrowing the classroom library books and bringing them home to read. But please have your children bring them back to the classroom as soon as they are done. Every year I lose our class favorites and I have to replace them with my own money. I try to always write my name on and inside the cover. Thanks for your help!

Hood River Apples
Just a reminder: There has been an apple truck that comes once a year and parks in my neighborhood near Grant High School. They always bring the most amazing apples, pears, and honey from their farm. If you can make it, it’s really worth your time. The Hood River Apple People will be selling apples and pears starting Saturday, October 12th.  They will be there Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20.  They will be at the corner of 37th and Thompson from 9am-3pm.

Prices this year are $0.70 per pound, and $24.00 for a 40 lb. box.  They will have honey from our farm bees again (it’s the BEST!), as well as garden gourds and pumpkins.
